Meriansbrush - Calliteara pudibunda
A
butterfly (Lymantriidae) common to Europe and Asia (temperate).
The butterfly can be seen from april to june in woods,
gardens and parks.
The butterfly is not remarkable in its colours quite unlike
the catterpillar. The catterpillar is polyphage and eats
leafs from different decidous trees. In October they pupate
and survive till next spring.
